Bloomfield’s Francofest Team was awarded the prize for ‘Most Creative Trade Stand’ in this year’s competition held at Queen’s University Belfast and organised by NICILT.
The team’s eye-catching ‘RenouvO’ stand had both an ecological and linguistic dimension: the Year 10 girls created a unique range of French-themed products, upcycled using disused everyday items. Many of these were donated by individuals in school. The technique of découpage was mastered and used to transform the objects.
By adding a QR code linked to French vocabulary associated with that item, the products also promoted the French language!
Martha, Rachel, Faith and Katie were filmed marketing their products entirely in French, thanks to our expert director and editor Sofia and with Victoria in charge of script on the day.

This achievement was the result of a huge team effort, under the guidance of Mrs Polley, and with the help of our French Assistant Nadira. The girls displayed fantastic initiative, dedication, creativity and skill and fully deserve this accolade. Bravo!
