The Year 13 Software Systems Development class attended workshops on Amazon Web Services, Spring Boot, and Virtual Reality as part of Liberty IT’s ongoing programme of STEM outreach. STEM Ambassador at Liberty IT, Amy Hollinger, said: “The aim is to inspire and foster the next generation of IT talent through our educational institution partnerships to encourage pupils to continue a career in science, technology, engineering and mathematical careers.”
All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the visit and are intrigued about careers in the IT industry. The visit not only introduced the pupils to a wide range of new technology but helps them see how software projects are managed in the real world – a skill which is invaluable as they embark on the A2 course.
