Marathon Relay

Marathon Relay

A group of teachers and sixth form pupils bravely decided to enter the Belfast Marathon relay, to raise awareness and funds for four local charities that had supported our school community in recent months. The charities were the Oesophageal Patients Association NI, Marie Curie, Clic Sargent and Cancer Fund for Children.

Having completed the difficult task of choosing our team names ‘Sole Trainers 1 and 2’ and ‘V O2 The Max’, we set about training for the event as many of us had never really ran before!

Through cycle races, raffles and the Ice-bucket challenge which saw pupils win the chance to throw buckets of ice water over members of staff, a total of £6500 was raised for the charities.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all pupils, parents, staff family and friends for supporting us in this cause, your donations and encouragement really helped us keep training and running on the day!
