The Under 14 A hockey squad visited Bray recently for our annual fixture against St Gerard’s School.
There was much excitement on the journey to Dublin and, after lunch at the school, the girls were ready to play. We dominated the game, although the St Gerard’s goalkeeper played extremely well to deny us several goals. However, Naomi Seymour on the left wing eventually managed to put the ball past her and we won the match 1 nil.
Then it was back to the Royal Hotel to soak our tired muscles in the swimming pool before dinner at a local pizzeria. After more garlic bread, pizza and ice cream than we could eat, we eventually got off to sleep in the early hours of the morning.
The following day we managed to spend some euros in the nearby shops before catching the train back to Belfast. This was definitely a most enjoyable and successful way to end the season.
