This year we entered the competition 5,6,7,8 for the very first time. Held in The Europa Hotel, Belfast on the weekend of 31st January – 2nd February 2020, whis was an all-Ireland competition and we were the only school competing against clubs. There was an amazing atmosphere throughout the weekend and we had some great success.
On the Friday evening the Junior Lyrical Team placed first, the Junior Modern Trio, Ellie Neill, Jenna McCreery and Hannah McBratney placed second and the Junior Lyrical Trio, Zoe McClintock, Tillie Logan and Chloe Cowan placed third.
The Saturday morning brought even more success with Erin Crangle and Caitlyn Thompson’s Modern Duet placing third, Erin Crangle’s Lyrical Solo placing third and Mia Cardwell’s Lyrical Solo being highly commended.
The success continued into the afternoon with Niamh Scates and Mia Cardwell’s Lyrical Duet placing first and Storm Dougherty and Mia Cardwell’s Modern Duet also placing first. Emily Conville and Lauren Hamilton were placed third with their Street Dance Duet.
The Intermediate Modern Team ‘Africa’ placed second, The Intermediate Modern Duet, Morgan Neill and Paris Todd placed third, The Senior Street Dance Duet, Becky Sayer and Ellie Scott placed second and the Intermediate Jazz Trio, Paris Todd, Morgan Neill and Mia Cardwell placed second.
It was a fantastic experience and we hope to enter the 5,6,7,8 competition again.
