During the Easter break, 20 pupils in year 13 and year 11 went to Madrid, for a Spanish trip.
We went for four days and three nights, in this short time we managed to visit lots of places in Madrid, where we learnt more about the culture and the history of Spain. The Santiago Bernabéu stadium, Parque del Buen Retiro (Retiro Park,) Palacio Real (the Royal Palace of Madrid), Plaza de Toros de las Ventas, Plaza Mayor, El Rastro market and The Reina Sofia musem.
Our favourite part was the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas, which we visited on the third day. Here we got a tour of the biggest and most famous bullring in Spain, minus the bull fight!
We were given a really great taste of Spain, as we got to learn about Spanish painters and experience traditional music and dance at a flamenco show. We ate some delicious tapas and enjoyed chocolate con churros! Of course we managed to fit in some shopping and had time in the famous department store, El Corte Inglés.
Overall, we thought Madrid was a beautiful city, with so much to see and do and really enjoyed our visit!
