Art Trip

Art students from Years 11 and 12 visited the Ulster Museum to observe Belfast artist Colin Davidson’s most recent exhibition “Silent Testimony”. The exhibit included 18 large oil portraits, each featuring victims either injured or bereaved by The Troubles with brief descriptions of the subject’s personal suffering. They certainly struck a chord with many in our group.

We were fascinated and intrigued by Davidson’s unique style of painting and his ability to capture emotion through expression, especially conveying the sitters’ detriment. For some of us, this proved to be valuable research for our coursework and an excellent educational trip.
