Boston Hockey Tour 2014

After over 700 days of preparation and fundraising we have had 7 of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences as we return undefeated from tour.

Before giving a brief account of the tour the most important thing to do is to give the teachers a massive thank you from us all. Mrs Willis, Mrs Mills, Mrs Gibson and Mrs McCaughan were amazing from start to finish and do not be surprised if Mrs Willis appears singing on the X Factor in the future! On behalf of all the girls I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work over the past few years.

We managed to play some hockey and had two victories over Beaver County Day School 5-0 and 4-1.  These matches included a hat trick from Joanna Minnis and the goal of the tour from Victoria Lyons. This was followed up by a trip to Derryfield School where we drew 1-1 and won 1-0.  A third match with Montrose was cancelled due to the weather but we got to watch them play a soccer match instead.

Apart from the hockey we had a reception with the Mayor of Belfast, a duck tour, watched a league basketball match, visited Harvard University, went on the Freedom Trail and managed some shopping and a lot of eating.
