The spring concert held in The Spires was a wonderful summary for our year of music. Song choices ranged from our beloved Shenandoah to new songs such as Incantations. This reminded us of the many different occasions and songs we as an ensemble had experienced during the school year and how far we had come, both individually and as a group, in our singing abilities. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this talented and, in many other ways, brilliant group of girls. I cannot wait for another year of music making.
As the theme of the concert was based around films, the Senior Choir sang a piece from the french film ‘Les Choristes’. You can only imagine how long it took to get our heads around our parts alone, never mind the fact that the song is sung in french; however, once we had mastered our parts, we really enjoyed this piece. Our next piece Goldfinger, from the famous James Bond movie, was a firm favourite among the girls and finally, May it Be from the ‘Lord of the Rings’.
