NI Libraries Book Week

pupils in costumes

This week was NI Libraries Book Week and was celebrated by pupils across the school through several different events.

An anagram competition of the teachers’ favourite books was run in the Joan Lingard Library all week. An assembly was also held for years 8 and 9 on Thursday 20th October. At this assembly, pupils were invited to dress up as characters from their favourite books and Library Mentors and teachers spoke about their personal favourite novels. Students were then given an opportunity to simply spend some time reading and take a break from their busy lives to become immersed in a book.

Thank you to Mrs Furphy for her hard work in organising such a brilliant week and for her constant enthusiasm in spreading the joy of reading to all the pupils in our school.
