On the 26th September we celebrated the European Day of Languages within school.
To start the day off, we had a special assembly in which two A-level French students conducted a quiz, testing our language knowledge and awareness.
Throughout the day, some members of staff demonstrated their linguistic skills by using another language within their lessons. We had rooms around school labelled in French, German and Spanish. Meanwhile, in the canteen at break and lunchtimes, students were able to mingle with our Language Assistants who gave out stickers.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the delicious Year 8 French breakfast of hot chocolate and pain au chocolat. A fun day was had by all and, hopefully, students were made more aware of the important role that languages play in our world.
