On Friday 24th February, 4 pupils from Year 11 attended a Science Event entitled “Women in Science” at Belfast Metropolitan College.
It was organised as part of the NI Science Festival, the aim being to encourage females to enter into Science, Technology and Engineering fields. Laura found the day really enjoyable and particularly liked the hands-on experience of the workshops. The girls had the opportunity to make a model steam engine, try out virtual reality technology and to practise film editing. The overall feedback was positive with all of the girls indicating that their views on future careers in STEM had been widened.
