Bloomfield Collegiate celebrated the academic and sporting life of the school during our annual Prize Day. In recognition of the pupils’ efforts and achievements, guest of honour, Rt Hon Arlene Foster MLA, distributed the prizes and then delivered an inspirational address, focusing in the tremendous value of a good “collegiate” education.
Notable academic successes included Caitlyn Hands achieving 3A* and 1A grade and Joy McClean achieving 3A* at A Level. The 100% pass rate at A Level was celebrated along with 81% of the pupils achieving at least 3A* to C grades and nearly 77% of all grades being A* to B at GCSE. Well done to all of the pupils for the wonderful successes.
The school choir and orchestra also entertained the audience with their performances of Chilcott’s “Kyrie” and “Sanctus”. Lauren Jervis and Hannah Harvey’s duet was particularly mesmerising.
Dr Barr, would like to thank all the pupils, parents, governors, staff and, especially, Mrs Foster for creating such a warm occasion.
