pupils in art class

Introduction

Visits to School are currently restricted and we are unable to deliver our normal format for Open Day, but we still want prospective parents and pupils to get a chance to know a little bit more about what is on offer in our school and get a flavour of our friendly, caring ethos. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact the school and we will try to answer your query.

Pupils’ Speeches

Three Year 8 pupils addressed parents and prospective pupils in the assembly hall. You can read their speeches below:

Hello, my name is Chloe and I am in Year 8 here at Bloomfield Collegiate. A year ago I was sitting where you are now and very nervous about choosing a school. I am so glad that I chose Bloomfield!

It really is a great school and I have had the best few months so far. Everyone is so helpful and welcoming which has made settling into a new school much easier than I thought it would be.

At Bloomfield there are lots of clubs and sports teams to join. I play on the Year 8 hockey team and have also joined the Athletics club, both are great fun to be part of!

In October we went on our school residential to Ganaway in Millisle. It was a great way to get to know our class and my form teacher Miss Kinsley-Smith even better. We got do to zip-lining, caving and the leap of faith. I’m sure if you come to Bloomfield you will enjoy Ganaway and the start of Year 8 as much as I have.

Hi everyone! My name is Evie and I’m in Year 8. Tonight I would like to tell you about Bloomfield Collegiate and why it is such a great choice for your next school.

Bloomfield is a kind community with really enthusiastic teachers and great staff in general. The pupils are the friendliest people and everywhere you turn there is someone to help. So far I have loved it here with all my new friends and teachers.

Grammar school is a lot different from Primary school, instead of sitting in one classroom all day you get to move around between classes and study lots of new interesting subjects such as French and Home Economics. My favourite subjects are Art and Technology because I like creating things and so far this year I have made an LED sign and a clay pot in Art.

I hope you enjoy visiting our school.

Hello, my name is Kiana. I am in 8S and would like to talk to you about why I really enjoy being a pupil at Bloomfield Collegiate School.

At the start of Year 8 I auditioned for the school play Joseph and was chosen for the role of one of the wives. In the beginning I had very little confidence, I love Drama but I was very nervous. However, the teachers and other girls brought out the best in me and made me feel confident enough to go on the stage, without that I don’t think I would be able to stand up here and talk to you now.

I have found Bloomfield to be a very friendly school, there are so many after school and lunch time clubs that there really is something for everyone to get involved in. The staff and pupils are very helpful especially to Year 8 and although I have only been here a short time I feel a part of the school community already.

Thank you.
