Dates for your Diary
Exam Week
During exam week, pupils in Years 11-14 need attend only for exams. Exams for Years 8-10 end at 2.30pm. All school buses will run as normal throughout the week. Should a pupil wish to stay in school to study, she may do so in the Canteen.
Study Skills
We have been rolling out a study skills package in the Middle and Senior schools in partnership with Inspire Education. Years 13 and 14 have already completed the sessions, while Years 11 and 12 will attend training and receive their Student Study Skills Guides in January.
Our experience tells us that with the right mindset, knowledge and toolkit, not only is it possible to take control of the exam process but that success is absolutely within the grasp of all students. The Student Study Skills Guides are designed with exactly this in mind. You can find more information about study skills and how you can help by following this link.
Pupil News
Congratulations to Charlotte Eadie, Year 13, who has been invited to be part of the selection process for the Irish sailing team in advance of the next Olympic games. She commences training in Valencia soon.
Well-done also to Rebekah McFedries, Year 10, who recently had her first TV role in Nova Jones, a CBBC series.
Finally, a huge round of applause for Eve-Rose McGall, Year 13, a talented, dedicated and successful ballet/contemporary dancer. As a school community we have watched her win scholarships and titles throughout the years as she performs on national and international stages. This weekend, seven industry judges from the UK and USA awarded her the title Champion of Champions 2022 and also Dancer of the Year. She won the top prize, which is a trip to New York to dance in the Broadway Dance Studios alongside famous dancers and performers.
School Charities
Our school community is always incredibly generous when thinking of others. As Christmas approaches his year, we will be supporting two local charities. Pupils in Years 8-10 will be collecting for Food Larder, while older pupils will be donating to the Willowfield Parish food bank. These will be supported by a Christmas jumper day on 15th December. More details to follow.
In school, we will be providing hot drinks and toast free to pupils in the mornings before registration from Monday 12th December. Breakfast Club will remain open to pupils over the winter months should there be a demand for it.
