Priya R, Year 14, participated in the Nuffield Bursary Scheme organised by Sentinus. Priya was offered a 4 week summer placement with Professor John Moore and his team at the City Hospital, Belfast during which she worked on numerical analysis of Cystic Fibrosis related bacteria and its antibiotic resistance trends. She presented her findings in the form of a scientific paper and poster at a celebration day at the Queen’s University, Belfast.
This experience has given Priya an invaluable insight into the world of scientific research and in the process she has further developed her problem solving and communication skills.
