The Faraday Challenge is a Year 9 STEM competition which is run by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. The Challenge gives pupils the opportunity to research, design and make solutions to tough engineering problems. The activities test the capabilities of these pupils as future engineers.
A team of Year 9 pupils from Bloomfield Collegiate School recently competed in the Northern Ireland region heat at the Queen’s University of Belfast and beat stiff competition to be crowned regional winners.
The team, consisting of Esme B, Isabel B, Thea C, Leah M, Faye N and Amelia P have been invited to an all-expenses paid trip to the final in London in June 2015 to compete for a cash prize of up to £1000 for their school.
Well done girls!
