CultureTECH Big Video Challenge

CultureTECH holds a Big Video Challenge for all schools across Northern Ireland.  This year the topic was on Code Breaking.

Year 9 entered three teams the Code Breakers, the Detentioners and Coding Everyday.

Code Breakers

The Code Breakers consisted of Esme B, Isabel B, Emily G, Shannon J, Rachel K, Leah M, Eisha M, Olivia M, Rebecca S and Lucie Y. They based their entry around the song “The Other Side” by Jason Derulo to explain how codes are created and deciphered.

The Detentioners

The Detentioners consisted of Emma B, Ewa G, Nicole K, Hannah McQ and Mariam O. They based their entry around the scenario of pupils getting detentions, trying to break a teacher’s code so that they could get out of their detention.

Coding Every Day

Coding Everyday  was a solo entry by Natasha H. She used animation to explain how coding is used and created in everyday life.

All the girls attended the CultureTECH award ceremony held at the Odyssey Arena on Thursday 26th April. Where the girls all got a free drink and free popcorn.

Natasha’s entry was highly thought of by CultureTECH and won the Belfast City Council Sponsored special Award.
